CURATE by Ed Map’s vision is to facilitate discovery, alignment, and selection of multiple types of course content that are aligned with identified learning outcomes. The solution has a two-pronged approach with a professional service offering called CURATE Professional and a platform-based solution, CURATE (currently in development) allowing curators to discover multiple types of content and link those to predetermined outcomes.
CURATE Professional is a service designed to improve learning outcomes while also providing value for faculty and staff in time savings and for students in cost savings – all for a low per-course fee.
Ed Map’s experts discover relevant, fresh content to support better classroom success, retention, and graduation rates. We employ academic librarians and content area experts who search relevant databases and resources to find the right content to support learning outcomes and fit each school’s unique requirements. Then we ensure that the content is accessible and easily consumable by students.
Our CURATE Professional process involves three main steps:
- We start with your learning objectives. You define your learning needs, rubrics, and outcomes, and we find innovative course content to match them. It’s a learning-centered approach like no other.
- We develop content recommendations, vetted by content area experts, who are specifically matched to course objectives. Content can also be screened to match other criteria such as cost or skill or knowledge level.
- We deliver annotated bibliographies of content recommendations with content license type information. Further curation can be conducted following a review of the initial selections. Once the content is finalized, Ed Map can, if desired, copyright clear and deliver it to students.
CURATE by Ed Map is especially useful when you implement Open Educational Resources (OER) and disaggregated content on your campus.
Choosing and using these new content requires a strategy and a plan. In addition to CURATE, Ed Map offers other products and services to help.
Ed Map ADVISOR services provide change management to help with the transition to digital and open materials.
Ed Map’s OPENVUE® platform enables the distribution of OER or disaggregated elements in course packs to the right students for the right courses at the right time. OPENVUE tracks when students have accessed their content so you can identify and contact students who might be falling behind.
