A phrase has popped into my mind: indeed, there is great chaos under heaven and the situation is excellent.

Regulatory issues continue to emerge for many of ED MAP’s client schools. Federal financial aid levels and eligibility. Gainful employment benchmarks. Recruitment compensation rules. Retention rates. These and other regulatory issues are being tossed around by Democrats and Republicans alike, each side presenting an array of solutions and different attitudes towards any resolution.

The regulatory issues are significant distractions to most career colleges and proprietary institutions. It is likely, however, that the very questions and practices that have brought on these proposed regulatory reforms will continue to simmer and will soon, no doubt, become similar distractions for traditional regionally-accredited institutions.
